Ordering for Christmas?

Our pre orders for Christmas week our now closed.

We will be baking lots each day so come on down to get what you need.

We will be closed from 25 December 2025 for our annual break but our online orders will start again in the New Year.

We reopen at The Bakery on Tuesday 6 January 2026 and at The Gallery on Friday 2 January 2026.

SOURDOUGH

The sourdough process relies on wild yeasts and a long slow process of natural fermentation. The effects on the bread through this include a unique flavour and crust that bear no resemblance to commercially yeasted, fast rise, mass produced supermarket bread. The bacteria that are produced during the fermentation process enable much easier digestion of the gluten and complex carbohydrates and easier uptake of nutrients. In short, sourdough is viable option for gut health. Our Sourdoughs are a combination of approximately 25% organic wholemeal and whole rye, and sustainably farmed plain wheat flour. All sourdoughs available online are vegan.

 

Our sourdoughs have a high moisture content which enables them to be eaten fresh for days. Wrap them in a muslin cloth or tea towel to retain freshness. Or slice and freeze.

Ordering guidelines

Order by 12pm one day, to be able to collect the next day. For example before 12pm Monday to collect Tuesday. Except for Monday collection. Order needs to be placed by 11am Saturday.

All orders to be collected from The Bakery, 2A St John Street, Tauranga, orders can not be collected from The Gallery location.
